One of the most important jobs that honey bees carry out is pollination of flowers and crops and as Beefarmers we are able to help with any crops that need pollination .
By visiting the flowers of plants and trees, bees pick up small grains of pollen and carry them to the next flower where the grains of pollen are transferred and the process of pollination happens. The more pollen that is transferred leads to larger and better shaped fruit. Poorly pollinated fruit are often smaller and mishaped and therefore can not be sold in supermarkets.
Much of the fruit and vegatables that we eat is totally dependant on pollination by honey bees.
We at Hitchin Honey can provide colonies of bees specifically for the pollination of commercial crops. Please contact Gary for pricing and availability.
